Stylegroove Media Founder Carrie Mitchell, and her brother Colin Mitchell, recently started Lucy James Designs as an ode to both their maternal Grandmother Lucy Peiffer, and paternal Grandfather James Mitchell. LJD sells unique products on Etsy with a mission to raise funds and awareness for two designated global charities each year. For 2012:

Style Our World is an international vlogging collective for the style enthusiast by the style enthusiast. Like a global video version of ‘The Sartorialist’, local amateur shooters give you a peek into their local music, fashion, food, events & culture scene. Contributing reports include stories and interviews from the front lines of style and the diverse cultures that influence it. As one women recently exclaimed “DVF invented the wrap dress? We’ve been wearing the Sari in India for 5000 years!” Style Our World brings style influences from their true beginnings, all around the world, through the eyes of locals who know them.

Bringing the chicness from the streets -part style, part lifestyle – and an international collection of inspiring and intriguing influences on art, fashion, music, entertainment and culture. These Video Journalists offer an insider’s perspective on what they’re most excited about: What’s hot ,what’s not and how the unique style elements of their native Country have influenced us all. Reports from around the world, behind the scene looks at the latest styles, local and unique design techniques, would be told through profiles and interviews with local designers, artists, musicians, personalities and institutions. International contributors film in their own communities, giving the show a global reach and an authenticity rarely seen. Style Our World gives them the chance.

Each episode is polished and slickly packaged, yet the segments retain enough rawness and immediacy to reflect the fact that they are shot and produced by fans not that different than the people watching the show.
